The Best Things About Coming Home For Breaks:
As all of you college students know, college is VERY stressful. I feel like every second of everyday needs to be filled with doing homework. And let me tell you, it has be one LOOOOOOOOOONG week. Between all of the homework due right at the beginning of a break and tests, I am burned out!! So, it was a wonderful feeling to pull up to my childhood home Wednesday night. Being home is a LOT different than the dorms, so this week's #FFF goes out to the 5 best things about being home.
1 - Free Laundry. Never have I ever worn clothes so repeatedly than I did this year!! Mostly, I just did it because paying for laundry SUCKS! I feel like every time I get a quarter back in change I think to myself: "Oh! Laundry money!" When I'd rather be thinking: "Do I have this one in my collection, yet?"
2 - People that love you surrounding you. Sure, my boyfriend and best friend are usually around at college, but aside from that there are what? MAYBE fifteen people who care about anything I do or say. Whereas, at home I see my other friends, family, people I grew up around. And it feels so good to recognize more faces then I don’t know.
3 - Less stress. Because I am home alone today, I know my mother would LOVE it if I cleaned the house. However, I don't live here anymore (kinda), and so she doesn't expect it. And, as I'm sure some of you know, doing something you want to is WAY better than doing something you HAVE to.
4 - The beds!! I got booted out of my own room, so now when I come home I sleep on my younger sister, Anna's, trundle bed. It's about 30 years old and it sags, but it STILL beats the bed that I was issued from the school. Sarah and I bunked the beds in our room, and they squeak to high heavens!! It's like every time you BREATH they squeak, so annoying!
5 - It's home!! I don't think I can say that enough. No matter what, it's just being home. Knowing where everything is kept, being able to use the free laundry, and being able to drive across town and STILL know where I am!
What's your favorite thing about coming home from a trip/school/ or whatever you do?
